"A picture is worth a thousand words and more"

Another interesting category has been added to the 2nd Nature Photo Competition 2010.

Attention, photography lovers, in Oktober 2010 there will be another competition. Due to the great success im autumn 2009, the Naturschutzbund Burgenland, the Association of Austrian Amateur Photographer Clubs (Verband Österreichischer Amateurfotografenvereine VÖAV) – group Burgenland and the Esterhazy-Betriebe GmbH will again organize the 2nd Nature Photo Competition 2010 this year.

There will be topics from three categories landscapes, animals and plants to choose from. A new special topic that is added this year will be nature and man. Here the impact of natural landscapes on mankind shall be illustrated and in what way man can benefit from it (relationship wild animals – man, wild plants – man, wilderness – man). The contents of the photos shall have to focus upon Central and Eastern Europe.

All persons interested in Austria or abroad are entitled to participate. No matter if you submit photos, slides or digital files, no matter if your pictures are in black and white or colour, join in and send us your most beautiful photos. An independent expert jury will choose the best photos and awards prizes to the first three places of each category, the overall winner as well as overall second and third place from all three categories. The special topic will be awarded with honorary and non-cash prizes. The award ceremony and the opening of the exhibition at Schloss Lackenbach, district Oberpullendorf, are scheduled for October 2010 (exact date still to be announced). The best picture will also be published on the website www.naturschutzbund-burgenland.at and can be downloaded as screensavers.
