On May 18th, the Federal Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, Niki Berlakovich handed over a sponsorship certificate to Dr. Stefan Ottrubay. "Vielfaltleben" is the name of a national biodiversity campaign of the Naturschutzbund, WWF, Birdlife and ÖBf in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management.
21 endangered species – representatives of biological diversity – shall be put into the focus of public interest by project work and p.r. measures in order to raise public awareness for the protection of nature and of the environment. For each of these leading species one celebrity or public figure shall become sponsor and prominent advocate. Dr. Stefan Ottrubay, general manager of the ’Esterhazy Betriebe GmbH’, has chosen the Green Lizard and Minister Berlakovich personally handed over the sponsorship certificate to him. "Particularly the Green Lizard is typical of our vitally important cultural landscape between Lake Neusiedl and the Leithagebirge Mountains and should become a true model for nature protection and tourism in this region", Dr. Ottrubay emphasized.
